How to Cure Winter Skin

Winter is the time of year when your skin needs to be taken care of more than ever before. If you're not careful, your skin can get dry and itchy, which can lead to all sorts of problems like eczema and other conditions. The good news is that there are a lot of things you can do to keep your skin healthy and moisturized through the winter months. Read on for our list of the best ways to cure winter skin.

1. Stay Hydrated.

This is the most important thing you can do to keep your skin hydrated. It's not enough to just drink water, though. Drink it lukewarm or cold, with lemon, with cucumber, or even with mint. At Beauty Strike, we greet every client with a smile and complimentary cucumber infused water to ensure hydration not only during appointments, but before and after.

2. Find the Right Cleanser for your Skin Type.

One of the best ways to keep your skin healthy and moisturized is to wash it daily. Get a skincare routine and stick to it. Check out our Skincare Quiz to get a better understanding of your skincare needs. You can also consult with our licensed estheticians to get recommendations for products that cater to your specific skin concerns. If you have dry skin, you'll need to use a cleanser that's designed for your specific skin type.  Our Green Tea Cleanser is perfect for dry skin.    If you have oily skin, try our Brightening Cleansing Water.

3. Stay Moisturized.

Moisturizers are your best friend. They seal in your skin's natural moisture and keep it from drying out. We have a variety of moisturizers to select from. Our best seller is the Brightening Day SPF 50. But don't just wear it during the winter. Wear it year-round.

4. Moisturize your entire Body.

You can also try a hand cream or lotion to moisturize your hands. Try out our Beauty Sleep bundle which includes

Beauty Sleep Body Wash

Beauty Sleep Body Lotion

Lavender Body Scrub

This will help keep your hands and body from drying out and cracking.

If you're experiencing dry, itchy skin this winter, consider investing in a humidifier. A humidifier can help to moisturize your skin and prevent it from cracking or peeling. You can also use a humidifier to combat the effects of sinusitis and other respiratory conditions. At our spa, each treatment room is equipped with HEPA air filters which help to clean the air we breathe.

The most important thing to do is to keep your skin clean and dry. Wear clothing that is made of natural fibers, like cotton, wool, or silk. Beauty Strike's silk sleep sets and pillowcases are perfect to give your skin a break from harsh materials. Avoid wearing tight clothing because it will trap moisture against your skin.
